Your First Chat
Once you’ve completed onboarding, you’re ready to start chatting. Here’s how to get the most out of your first conversation.
Starting a conversation
- Click New Chat in the top of the left sidebar, or select an existing conversation
- Type your question or request in the text field at the bottom
- Press Enter or click the Send button
The AI responds in real time — you’ll see the response stream in as it’s generated.
Using example prompts
Not sure what to ask first? Use the dice icon in the empty chat state:
- Click the dice to get a random role-specific example prompt
- Click again to get a different one
- Click the prompt text to insert it directly into your input field
These prompts are curated for your role, so they’re a good indication of the kinds of tasks the AI handles well.
What to ask
Suprvisr AI works well for:
- Open-ended questions: “What’s the best way to handle X?”
- Drafting content: “Write a one-page spec for this feature”
- Summarizing: “Summarize this in 3 bullet points”
- Debugging help: “Why would this code fail? [paste code]”
- Decision support: “What are the tradeoffs of approach A vs B?”
Pro tip: The more context you give, the better the answer. Instead of “help me with email”, try “Help me write a follow-up email to a client who hasn’t responded in 2 weeks about a proposal.”
Conversation tips
- You can follow up: Ask the AI to clarify, expand, or rewrite its response
- Be specific: Longer, more specific prompts generally produce better results
- Paste content: You can paste code, documents, or text and ask the AI to work with it
- Start fresh: Use New Chat when switching topics to avoid context confusion
