Slash Commands
What it does: Type / in the chat input to access quick commands that trigger specific AI tools. Slash commands give you direct control over what the AI does instead of relying on it to decide.

How to use them
Opening the command menu
Type / in an empty chat input. A popover menu appears showing all available commands.
- Arrow keys or Tab to navigate between commands
- Enter to select
- Escape to dismiss
Using a command
After selecting a command, it appears as a blue prefix in the input field (e.g. /websearch). Type your query after it and press Enter.
Example: select /image, then type a mountain landscape at sunset and send.
Clearing a command
Press Backspace on an empty input to remove the active slash command and return to normal chat.
Note: Commands only appear in the menu if the corresponding feature is enabled for your organization. If you don’t see a command, ask your admin to enable it in Settings.
Tips & gotchas
- Commands force tool use —
/websearchalways triggers a web search, even if the AI could answer without one. Use it when you specifically want fresh results. - Natural language works too — you don’t need slash commands for every request. The AI automatically uses tools when appropriate. Commands are for when you want to be explicit.
- One command at a time — you can only have one active slash command per message
- Slash command text is hidden — the command prefix doesn’t appear in your message bubble, only your query does
